Rev. John T. Risley

Funeral services for Drumright resident, Rev. J.T. Risley, will be held 10:00 AM.M Saturday, March 14th in the Memorial Chapel of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. His son, Pastor Matthew Franklin Risley will officiate.

Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Box Cemetery near Vian, Oklahoma with Military Funeral Honors provided by the United States Army.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright, Oklahoma.

John was born in Qualls, Oklahoma on April 5, 1947 to the late Guy Burton Risley and Ruby Marie (Hougland) Risley. He passed from this life in Tulsa on March 4, 2026 at the age of 78 years, 10 months, & 27 days. John was raised & educated in the Tahlequah area. He joined the United Sates Army in 1967 & was Honorably Discharged in 1970.

He married Julia Ragge in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on March 24, 1969 and they made their home in Tulsa. They moved to this area in 1984 and have been in Drumright for the past 25 years. John was a Free Will Baptist minister & was pastor at the Lone Chimney Free Will Baptist Church. He had also worked for Creek County out of the Drumright office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brothers: Glen – Clifford – Robert - & Floyd; and 1 Sister: Virginia Queen.

His remaining family includes his loving wife: Julia Risley of the home; 2 Sons: Matthew Risley and wife Elizabeth of McAlister – Jason Risley and wife Liliana of Texas; Grandchildren: Levi – Cailin – Maria - & Emma; Great Granddaughter: Addilyn; 3 Sisters: Leona Armer & husband Darrel – Viola Shelley - Winona Cordray & husband Dennis, all of Vian; Plus NUMEROUS Nieces – Nephews - Cousins & other relatives.
